Ma làng là bộ phim với đề tài nông thôn, được chuyển thể từ tiểu thuyết cùng tên của nhà văn Trịnh Thanh Phong và công chiếu trên truyền hình năm 2007.Bộ phim đã rất thành công và nhận được sự yêu thích của khán giả xem truyền hình. Bên cạnh việc xem xét nội dung bộ phim, chủ đề mà phim muốn truyền tải, thì ngôn ngữ nhân vật đang là phương diện được nhiều người quan tâm. Nó không chỉ làm thể hiện con người nhân vật trong phim, mà qua lời thoại, còn truyền tải thông điệp ý nghĩa đến người xem phim. Từ góc độ ngôn ngữ, tác giả khoá luận đi sâu và giải đáp ngôn ngữ nhân vật trong phim Ma làng, cụ thể là nhân vật Ló. Với mục đích muốn góp phần vào việc hiểu rõ hơn không chỉ nhân vật mà còn giá trị nhân văn gửi gắm qua nhân vật nói riêng và tác phẩm truyền hình nói chung,trong phạm vi khóa luận này, chúng tôi sẽ đi sâu vào mảng đề tài vẫn còn bỏ ngỏ này dưới góc nhìn của ngôn ngữ học xã hội.
