Giao Thủy có 4 loại hình sử dụng đất với 19 kiểu sử dụng đất với hệ thống cây trồng tương đối phong phú. Tiểu vùng 1 có 4 loại hình sử dụng đất; trong đó loại hình nuôi trồng thủy sản cho GTSX/ha cao nhất, cụ thể nuôi trồng thủy sản nước mặn – lợ cho GTSX/ha là 666,25 triệu đồng, GTGT/ha đạt 403,54 triệu đồng, tiểu vùng 2 có 3 loại hình sử dụng đất; trong đó loại hình sử dụng đất 2 lúa – 1 màu cho hiệu quả kinh tế cao nhất với kiểu sử dụng đất lúa xuân – lúa mùa – bắp cải đông có GTSX/ha đạt 191,27 triệu đồng, GTGT/ha đạt 140,82 triệu đồng, tiểu vùng 3 có 3 loại hình sử dụng đất, loại hình sử dụng đất cho hiệu quả kinh tế cao nhất là chuyên rau màu với kiểu sử dụng đất bí xanh xuân – bí xanh mùa – bắp cải đông đạt GTSX/ha là 264,31 triệu đồng, GTGT/ha là 210,28 triệu đồng.
Hiệu quả xã hội kiểu sử dụng đất thu hút nhiều lao động nhất là kiểu sử dụng đất đỗ xanh xuân – đỗ xanh mùa – bắp cải đông, ngô xuân – đậu tương mùa – ngô đông, bí xanh xuân – bí xanh mùa – bắp cải đông.
Tất cả các kiểu sử dụng đất do việc sử dụng phân bón và thuốc BVTV đều ảnh hưởng xấu tới môi trường, mức sử dụng các loại phân bón và thuốc BVTV ở Giao Thủy còn chưa cân đối và hợp lý.
