1992: the concept of ASEAN economic integration was first launched in the Framework Agreement for the Promotion of ASEAN Economic Cooperation signed in Singapore. This Agreement emphasizes the importance of cooperation in the fields of trade, industry, energy and mining, finance and banking, food, agriculture and forestry, transport and communications. 1992: Agreement on Preferential Tariffs Common Effective (CEPT) has been signed, then was replaced by the Agreement on Trade in Goods of ASEAN 2010.
1995: the Framework Agreement on ASEAN Services signed. 1998: Framework Agreement on the ASEAN Investment was signed, then the Agreement is replaced by the ASEAN Comprehensive Investment 2012. 2003: At the 9th ASEAN Summit, ASEAN leaders declared for the first time the goal of establishing an ASEAN economic Community (AEC). This objective is in line with the ASEAN Vision 2020 adopted in 1997 with the goal of developing an ASEAN Community ASEAN. 2006: At the meeting of the ASEAN Economic Ministers 38th, the Master Plan for the AEC (AEC Blueprint) has been launched with the target and a specific roadmap for the implementation of the AEC. 2007: At the Summit 12th ASEAN, the ASEAN leaders agreed to accelerate the formation of the AEC by 2015, instead of 2020 as originally planned
