Đồng hành cùng gia đình, nhà trường là cái nôi nuôi dưỡng nhân tài, góp phần hình thành và ổn định nhân cách cho các em học sinh. Đối với các em, nhà trường đóng một vai trò hết sức quan trọng, đây là nơi cung cấp kiến thức khoa học nền tảng, là nơi tạo mọi điều kiện để các em có thể phát triển một cách toàn diện cả về thể chất lẫn tinh thần. Vì vậy, nếu không được đến trường hay nói đúng hơn là bỏ học, thì liệu sẽ đưa đến những hậu quả gì cho bản thân các em, gia đình và xã hội. Dù nguyên nhân bỏ học của các em là gì đi chăng nữa thì hậu quả mà nó gây ra là rất lớn. Trước tiên bản thân các em sẽ phải gánh chịu, ngay thời điểm hiện tại các em sẽ bị thiếu hụt một nền tảng tri thức cơ bản cần thiết cho sự phát triển của các em, từ sự mặc cảm, tự ty thua kém bạn bè, không có môi trường để rèn luyện đạo đức… dễ dàng đưa các em đến với những thói hư xấu, những hành vi lệch chuẩn. Và lúc đó, các em sẽ thật sự trở thành gánh nặng cho gia đình và xã hội. Với những em có hoàn cảnh kinh tế khá giả, bố mẹ có thể bao bọc hoặc lo cho một công việc nào đó nhưng còn những em có hoàn cảnh khó khăn thì sao? Khi không có công ăn việc làm, khó khăn sẽ chồng chất khó khăn và nếu không có bản lĩnh các em sẽ trở thành “tay sai” của tệ nạn xã hội (như trộm cướp, bài bạc, mại dâm….). Có thể nói, hậu quả từ việc bỏ học là rất tệ hại mà chúng ta không thể lường hết được. Nó tác động xấu đến sự phát triển kinh tế, văn hoá, xã hội của cả nước nói chung và của địa phương có học sinh bỏ học nói riêng. Thậm chí ở những địa phương có tỷ lệ bỏ học đông sẽ xảy ra tình trạng “khủng hoảng cộng đồng”. Vì một số thanh niên ở địa phương không có trí thức kéo theo không có nghề nghiệp, không có thu nhập, cuộc sống nghèo khó. Không có trí thức rất dễ sinh nhiều con, ảnh hưởng của sự gia tăng dân số. Còn sự nghèo khó nó sẽ dẫn đến con đường tội phạm, làm ăn phi pháp.
