In our continuous effort to improve the deviantART experience, we're publishing weekly Site Updates to keep members informed and to gather feedback. Below is a list of recent changes to the site, bug fixes, and feedback that was brought up by members in the last Site Update.

What's New

Resolved Film Submission Issue

Recently, we encountered a bug with Film deviation submission that has since been fixed. However, some Film deviations uploaded between May 27th and June 3rd may need to be re-submitted, due to this bug. Our apologies for any inconvenience.

Change Log

Some HTML formatting was broken in Portfolio descriptions. Fixed by Alisey
A small number of Premium Members were unable to schedule submissions to Group Gallery Folders other than Featured. Fixed by yumeruby
The text area in the deviantID widget was incorrectly restricted. Fixed by DEVlANT
When viewing one's Collections from the Favourites drop menu in the top right corner of the site, the "Full View" link would did not work. Fixed by elhsmart
The "Share via Note" modal was broken in Sta.sh. Fixed by elhsmart
The "Don't forget to add a comment” tooltip would not change placement when a deviation was zoomed in. Fixed by Alisey
The URLs for Gallery Folders and Collections have been updated to include the name of the Folder/Collection. Changed by elhsmart
For Safari users, the Google Analytics tracking ID field would be incorrectly auto-filled with a stored username, causing errors if any settings were changed and saved. Fixed by lepidosteus
For a short period, tildes could not be used in deviation titles. Fixed by Alisey
It was not possible to upload or change Gallery Folder icons for a short time. Fixed by elhsmart
Including a YouTube link when creating a new Forum thread would incorrectly try and fail to embed the video in the post. Fixed by inazar
When dragging and dropping a deviation into Sta.sh Writer from another window, it would display as HTML rather than embedding. Fixed by inazar
Some non-sRGB image files would lose color saturation after being uploaded and resized. Color profiles have since been and are now properly converted. Fixed by duraseb

Thank you for the feedback on last week's Site Update! Here's some of the feedback you left for us last week.
An abundance of feedback was left in response to last week's Discuss topic, with a wide variety of ideas and suggestions on how to better welcome new deviants to the site!
The most common point of feedback was to have an easy to find area where new deviants are featured and can be reached out to. There is currently a New Deviants section on the Today page, but some responses argued that it should be in an easier to see place.
Some deviants mentioned that an official welcome message or interactive walkthrough would help familiarize new deviants with the site and help integrate them into the community.
SexyMadHouse and several others suggested that familiar, active community members could volunteer to be notified from time to time about new deviants, to welcome them and interact with them.
In a similar vein, A-Seabass suggested a "Visit New Deviant" button.
Another common suggestion was a place to view art created by new deviants.
