Với 10 lỗi vi phạm nghiêm trọng của công ty Vedan đã bị xử phạt hành chính và đền bù cho người dân Phước Thái với tổng số tiền lên đến 7.7 triệu đô la Mỹ.

Việc xả nước thải trực tiếp ra dòng sông công ty Vedan đã trở thành hệ thống. Tôi còn nhớ thời gian trước, công ty này đã lén lút chở chất thải ra ngoài khơi để đổ, khi bị phát hiện đã ngụy biện rằng chất thải này được dùng làm thức ăn cho các loài hải sản.
Tôi không rõ hàng năm công ty này đóng góp cho ngân sách bao nhiêu, nhưng chắc chắn rằng không thể bằng với sự hủy hoại môi trường do công ty này gây ra đối với sông Thị Vải.
Là một công ty lớn nhưng đã không đề cao sức khỏe người dân lên đầu mà xem thường mạng sống của dân. Hàng năm Vedan đã thu về lợi nhuận cho mình khá lớn bằng việc đánh đổi sức khỏe và sinh mạng của người dân ở khu vực sông Thị Vải. Sự ô nhiễm này nó đã giết chết môi trường sống của các loài thủy sản và thực vật quanh đây. Qua sự việc Công ty Vedan Việt Nam đã làm ăn gian dối khi thiết lập một hệ thống tinh vi để lừa cơ quan quản lý và người dân, tôi cho rằng cần phải xử lý nghiêm túc để tránh các tiền lệ xấu.
