3. Ô nhiễm môi trường đất là gì?
Theo định nghĩa của Tổ chức Y tế thế giới (WHO) thì “Ô nhiễm môi trường là sự đưa vào môi trường các chất thải nguy hại hoặc năng lượng đến mức ảnh hưởng tiêu cực đến đời sống sinh vật, sức khỏe con người hoặc làm suy thoái chất lượng môi trường”. Đất được xem là ô nhiễm khi nồng độ các chất độc tăng lên quá mức an toàn, vượt lên khả năng tự làm sạch của môi trường đất.
Ô nhiễm môi trường đất được xem là tất cả các hiện tượng làm nhiễm bẩn môi trường đất bởi các chất gây ô nhiễm. Người ta có thể phân loại đất bị ô nhiễm theo nguồn gốc phát sinh, hoặc theo các tác nhân gây ô nhiễm.
