Rủi ro biến động giá nguyên liệu [OR1]
Nguyên vật liệu (các loại bột nhựa, hạt nhựa) chiếm tỷ trọng lớn trong cơ cấu giá thành sản phẩm nên biến động giá của của chúng sẽ tác động đến biên lợi nhuận của công ty. Các loại nguyên liệu sử dụng có nguồn gốc từ dầu mỏ. Hiện tại, sự lao dốc của giá hàng hóa, dầu thô đang rất có lợi cho công ty. Tuy nhiên, giá cả của các mặt hàng này biến động thất thường và là rủi ro hiện hữu.

Rủi ro không cung ứng kịp nhu cầu của khách hàng [OR2]
BMP hiện đang rơi vào tình trạng “Sản xuất đến đâu, tiêu thụ đến đấy”, thậm chí là không đủ hàng để bán. Điều này vừa thể hiện hiệu quả kinh doanh của công ty, vừa bộc lộ rủi ro rất nguy hiểm khi mà thiếu sản phẩm khiến khách hàng phải mua sản phẩm của đối thủ cạnh tranh, đồng nghĩa với việc BMP chấp nhận nhường thị phần cho đối thủ. Việc đưa vào hoạt động Nhà máy Long An được kỳ vọng sẽ hạn chế được rủi ro này.

Rủi ro hội nhập [OR3]
Trong bối cảnh hội nhập, tham gia WTO, BMP vẫn chứng tỏ được năng lực cạnh tranh suốt thời gian vừa qua. Hàng loạt các hiệp định thương mại FTA, sự kiện thành lập AEC và đặc biệt là Hiệp định Đối tác Kinh tế Chiến lược xuyên Thái Bình Dương (TPP) sắp được ký kết sẽ khiến áp lực cạnh tranh của BMP với hàng nhập khẩu khi mà các rào cản thuế quan, chính sách bảo hộ được dỡ bỏ là không thể xem nhẹ. Điểm thuận lợi đó là chi phí vận chuyển với mặt hàng ống nhựa khá cao sẽ tạo áp lực cho các mặt hàng nhập khẩu.

Rủi ro hàng giả, hàng kém chất lượng [OR4]
Nhựa Bình Minh là một thương hiệu lớn, uy tín hàng đầu Việt Nam nên việc xuất hiện hàng giả, hàng kém chất lượng mang thương hiệu Bình Minh là không thể tránh khỏi, gây thiệt hại nặng nề đến uy tín của doanh nghiệp. BMP đã tiến hành kiểm soát bằng cách in trực tiếp thông số về thời gian xuất, mã số lô hàng, chỉ tiêu lên sản phẩm. Với giải pháp dán tem chống hàng giả (dự kiến chi phí khoảng 20 – 30 tỷ VND/năm), HĐQT chưa áp dụng do lo ngại không hiệu quả.

Rủi ro kinh tế [OR5]
Tốc độ tăng trưởng kinh tế, tốc độ xây dựng cơ sở hạ tầng cũng như đà tăng trưởng của thị trường bất động sản ảnh hưởng trực tiếp đến khả năng tiêu thụ sản phẩm của BMP. Nếu nền kinh tế bất ngờ rơi vào khủng hoảng, tốc độ xây dựng sẽ suy giảm và tác động mạnh mẽ đến công ty. Tuy nhiên, sức khỏe của nền kinh tế Việt Nam khá lạc quan, dòng vốn lớn liên tục đổ vào các dự án xây dựng cơ sở hạ tầng, bất động sản… Đặc biệt là ở khu vực bán đảo Thủ Thiêm, Phú Quốc,… nên chúng tôi cho rằng đây không phải là rủi ro lớn với BMP.

Financial Risk
Rủi ro tỷ giá hối đoái [FR1]
Khoảng 80.0% nguyên vật liệu trong sản xuất được công ty nhập khẩu. Ngoài ra, máy móc thiết bị của công ty toàn bộ đều được nhập khẩu, giá thanh toán chủ yếu là USD. Xu hướng tăng giá mạnh của USD và sự ổn định của VND khiến cho chi phí nhập khẩu tính theo VND tăng lên.

Rủi ro lãi suất [FR2]
Ảnh hưởng của lãi suất đến hoạt động kinh doanh của công ty là không đáng kể khi mà cơ cấu nguồn vốn của công ty gần như không có nợ vay.

Rủi ro tín dụng [FR3]
Rủi ro chủ yếu đến từ hoạt động thu hồi công nợ của khách hàng, đại lý. Trên thực tế, BMP đã phải trích lập dự phòng cho khoản phải thu từ công ty Đức Thành - một khách hàng lớn của BMP. Để hạn chế tối đa rủi ro công nợ, BMP tiến hành tăng chiết khấu đối với khách hàng trả ngay bằng tiền mặt, kiểm soát tốt tài sản đảm bảo.

Regulatory Risk
Rủi ro thay đổi chính sách [RR1]
Những thay đổi về pháp luật, chính sách thuế, quy định hạch toán… của cơ quan quản lý là những rủi ro khó lường trước. Chẳng hạn như việc Chính phủ ban hành Thông tư 200 về chế độ kế toán hay quyết định quản lý tải trọng của xe tải, xe hàng… làm tăng chi phí của BMP. Sự kiện công ty bị Tổng Cục Thuế truy thu 75 tỷ VND tiền thuế do sự không rõ ràng trong chính sách ưu đãi, miễn giảm thuế là một bằng chứng cho ảnh hưởng của rủi ro luật pháp mà công ty phải đối mặt.
