A. CẢI TẠO ĐẤT XÁM
Đặc tính chung của đất xám là loại đất nghèo dinh dưỡng dễ bị rửa trôi, phản ứng chua....., nhìn chung là loại đất đất không mấy thuận lợi cho nông nghiệp. Tuy nhiên nó lại chiếm diện tích lớn nhất trong các loại đất ở nước ta, vì vậy cần tận dụng, cải tạo chúng để đưa vào sử dụng trong nông, lâm nghiệp. Các biện pháp cải tạo đất xám đều chung mục đích cải thiện thành phần lý, hóa, sinh học trong đất, đưa đất vào sử dụng trong nông, lâm nghiệp với hiệu suất cao, bền vững.
Bón vôi: có tác dụng nâng cao pH và cải tạo lý tính của đất.
Cày sâu được xem như phương pháp cơ bản để cải tạo loại đất này.
Nghiên cứu chế độ tưới hợp lý, nếu không tưới sẽ làm cho đất bạc màu thêm.
Căn cứ từng chân ruộng thấp, cao xây dựng hệ thống luân canh cải tạo thích hợp.
Ruộng bậc thang, trồng cây theo đường đồng mức.
Bón phân hợp lí.
Luân canh cây trồng đặc biệt cây họ đậu, cây lương thực và cây phân xanh.
Sử dụng các loại phân bón sinh học, đất sinh học mới.
Xây dựng bờ vùng thưa, hạn chế quá trình rửa trôi các hạt sét, keo, chất dinh dưỡng đối với đất xám bạc màu.
