Việt Nam đang trong giai đoạn phát triển. Những tác động từ quá trình đầu tư, thu hút đầu tư kinh doanh, phát triển kinh tế - xã hội, đô thị hóa, công nghiệp hóa với nhiều ngành, lĩnh vực khác nhau thời gian qua đã dẫn đến việc bùng phát các vấn đề về môi trường. Ô nhiễm và các biện pháp bảo vệ môi trường cấp bách đã và đang tạo ra những bức xúc lớn. Nghiên cứu đề xuất xây dựng mô hình phát triển bền vững về mặt môi trường cho các doanh nghiệp dệt may Việt Nam với một số nội dung quan trọng nhằm nâng cao vai trò của doanh nghiệp dệt may trong giai đoạn đẩy mạnh công nghiệp hoá, hiện đại hoá, phát triển kinh tế, xã hội đất nước, đáp ứng được các yêu cầu của hội nhập và phát triển.
