Theo Cục trưởng Cục Khám chữa bệnh (Bộ Y tế) Lương Ngọc Khuê, hiện có khoảng 50% nam giới trưởng thành ở nước ta hút thuốc lá (tương đương 17 triệu người hút thuốc lá).

Với con số này,Việt Nam trở thành quốc gia có tỷ lệ hút thuốc lá cao nhất thế giới. Kết quả thống kê của hơn 1.000 bệnh viện trong năm 2009 cho thấy, có tới 60% bệnh nhân đến khám và điều trị mắc các bệnh không lây nhiễm có nguyên nhân từ thuốc lá như: tim mạch, huyết áp, đột quỵ, đái tháo đường…

Với rất nhiều vấn đề đang diễn ra như thực phẩm nhiễm độc, ô nhiễm môi trường… đã gây ảnh hưởng nghiệm trọng đến sức khỏe và thực trạng bệnh tật tại Việt Nam đã đến mức báo động, Vậy khi mắc bệnh chúng ta thường sử dụng những giải pháp nào để cải thiện sức khỏe.
