3. The model of human capital investment
According to Shultz (1963), education should be interpreted in three ways. Firstly, education meaningful in current consumption, the commodity create excitement for consumers (since the more knowledge). Second, education meant in future consumers; it helps the learner with the ability to consume more of other goods in life. Third, education means investing. This means that human capital from education process like material capital (physical capital), which is used until its marginal product equals the marginal cost of using it. This is what makes the economists see education as human capital investments.
Defining
our Creator born, very special people. Each person carries a body, face, and different voices. The function of these special people is labor, and we join the labor market with the knowledge, skills, and experience, and creativity (Sullivan, 2001) different is called human capital people. Do inseparable with labor, human capital characteristics very interesting and meaningful to be analyzed. First, unlike other types of physical capital, human capital can not transfer, sell, or mortgage. Suppose there is a new student who has just graduated from college wanted to buy a motorcycle to get around. He can not use his knowledge as collateral for a bank loan. Second, individuals invest in education with a desire to achieve more benefits when joining the labor market. However, the benefits achieved in the future will depend heavily on the efforts of each individual on the labor market (Checchi, 2005). That effort can not be guaranteed, so the human capital investment carries very high risks. In addition, risks arising from the calculation of the adjustment can not invest in education. Third, the other with material capital, human capital does not make the wearer become capitalists. Except that hire workers (self-employed), who own this type of capital will become salaried.
