Ngày 21/08/2009, Hiệu trưởng Trường Đại học Đồng Tháp đã kí Quyết định số 368/QĐ-ĐHĐT về việc thành lập Khoa Kinh tế trên cơ sở tách bộ môn Kinh tế ra từ Khoa Công nghệ thông tin trước đây. Ngày 09 tháng 05 năm 2013, Khoa Kinh tế chính thức đổi tên thành Khoa Kinh tế & Quản trị kinh doanh. Chuyên ngành đào tạo:Tài chính ngân hàng.Kế toán.Quản trị kinh doanh.
