- BMW: Hãng xe Đức này được Franz Josef Popp sáng lập ngày 7/3/1916 ở Milbertshofen-Am Hart, hiện đang sở hữu 2 thương hiệu xe hơi khác của Anh đó là Mini và Rolls Royce

+ Với Rolls Royce, hãng xe siêu sang của Anh được thành lập ngày 15/3/1906 bởi Charles Stewart Rolls và Sir Frederick Royce, họ của 2 người này được ghép thành tên của công ty và duy trì cho tới ngày nay. Rolls Royce là một công ty đa quốc gia, hoạt động ở các lĩnh vực như sản xuất xe hơi siêu sang, động cơ máy bay, động cơ xe đua F1, động cơ xe hơi...



- Fiat: Hãng xe này được Giovanni Agnelli thành lập ngày 11/7/1899 ở thành phố Turin của nước Ý. Tập đoàn này đang sở hữu những thương hiệu như Ferrari, Alfa Romeo, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Lancia, Maserati và Ram.

+ Vào cuối tháng 1/2014 vừa qua, Fiat tuyên bố đã hoàn tất mua 41% cổ phần còn lại của hãng xe hơi lớn thứ 3 của Mỹ là Chrysler (thành lập năm 1925), với giá 4,35 tỉ USD. Thương vụ này biến Fiat thành hãng xe hơi lớn thứ 7 Thế giới hiện nay

+ Có một thông tin thú vị nữa đó là Fiat đã mua lại nhiều hãng xe hơi nổi tiếng khác của nước Ý từ rất sớm, ví dụ mua lại Ferrari và Lancia năm 1969. Năm 1986 họ tiếp tục mua Alfa Romeo từ chính phủ. Hiện nay Fiat là hãng xe lớn nhất ở Ý.



- Ford Motor Company: Hãng xe hơi của Mỹ được sáng lập bởi Henry Ford ngày 16/6/1903. Hãng này đang sở hữu thương hiệu xe Lincoln và đang có một lượng cổ phiếu của hãng xe Nhật là Mazdaz

+ Lincoln là một công ty con của Ford từ năm 1922, họ chuyên sản xuất và kinh doanh xe hơi hạng sang, trong đó có dòng xe Limosines (Limo, một dạng xe saloon có kích thước dài).



- General Motors Company (GM): Hãng xe Mỹ được 3 người là William C. Durant, Charles Stewart Mott và Frederic L. Smith sáng lập ngày 16/9/1908. GM trước đây có tên là General Motors Corporation, năm 2009 tập đoàn này nộp đơn xin phá sản, Chính phủ Mỹ lúc đó đã ra tay cứu công ty này, và đổi tên nó thành GM như ngày nay với 7 dòng xe chevrolet đang bán tại Việt Nam như : Xe chevrolet spark van 2 chỗ, xe chevrolet spark 5 chỗ, xe chevrolet aveo sedan 5 chỗ, xe chevrolet cruze sedan 5 chỗ, xe chevrolet orlando 7 chỗ, xe chevrolet colorado bán tải 5 chỗ và cuối cùng là xe chevrolet captiva phiên bản cao nhất của Chevrolet Việt Long

+ GM hiện đang sở hữu nhiều thương hiệu xe sang của Mỹ là Buick, Cadillac, Chevrolet và GMC. Ngoài ra GM còn có cổ phần lớn ở Daewoo (Hàn Quốc), Opel và Vauxhall ở EU và Holden ở Úc.



- Honda được thành lập bởi Takeo Fujisawa và Soichiro Honda vào ngày 24/9/1948 ở Hamamatsu, Nhật Bản. Honda không chỉ kinh doanh xe hơi mà còn rất nổi tiếng với xe máy và mô tô, do đó đây là công ty sản xuất động cơ đốt trong lớn nhất Thế giới, với sản lượng hơn 14 triệu chiếc/năm.

+ Acura là thương hiệu xe sang mà Honda thành lập năm 1986 để kinh doanh ở Bắc Mỹ. - Hyundai: Tập đoàn này được thành lập năm 1947, tuy nhiên Hyundai Motor hoạt động ở lĩnh vực xe hơi ra đời 20 năm sau đó, ngày 29/12/1967. Hyundai là hãng xe hơi lớn thứ 4 Thế giới và lớn nhất Hàn Quốc hiện nay, với sản lượng năm 2012 đạt hơn 7,1 triệu xe.

+ Năm 1998, sau nhiều biến động của thị trường tài chính châu Á, Hyundai đã mua lại hãng xe KIA và duy trì hoạt động độc lập cho tới ngày nay. Năm 2012, Hyundai bán được hơn 4,4 triệu xe hơi trên toàn Thế giới, cộng thêm của KIA nữa là khoảng 7,12 triệu xe. Hyundai đang là một trong những hãng sản xuất linh kiện xe hơi lớn nhất hành tinh hiện nay.



- Mata Motors (Ấn Độ): Một thương hiệu rất xa lạ ở Việt Nam, tuy nhiên họ lại sở hữu 2 hãng xe hạng sang nổi tiếng là Jaguar và Land Rover.

Jaguar Cars (một loài báo đốm Mỹ) được thành lập năm 1922, ban đầu tên là Swallow Sidecar Company, một công ty chuyên sản xuất Sidecar (xe mô tô thùng). Còn Land Rover được thành lập năm 1948 ở Anh.

+ Năm 1989 Ford mua lại hãng Jaguar và năm 2000 mua lại Land Rover từ BMW. Đến năm 2002 họ nhập 2 công ty lại thành Jaguar Land Rover như ngày nay. Và năm 2008 thì Ford bán tập đoàn Jaguar Land Rover cho Tata Motors (Ấn Độ).



- Daimler AG: Tập đoàn đa quốc gia chuyên sản xuất xe hơi của Đức, được thành lập vào năm 1926 với tên gọi là Daimler-Benz. Tới năm 1998 thì họ đổi tên thành Daimler AG như ngày nay. Tập đoàn này sở hữu thương hiệu Mercedes-Benz và Smart.
