Nhiều bạn trẻ lựa chọn du học ngành bác sĩ nha khoa để tiếp cận với giáo trình chuẩn, phương pháp giáo dục mới và cập nhật công nghệ tiên tiến, hiện đại của y học thế giới.

Với chương trình đào tạo phù hợp, một nha sĩ sau vài năm hành nghề có thể trở thành chuyên gia trong lĩnh vực nha khoa thẩm mỹ, ví dụ như chỉnh nha (điều trị hô móm, răng lệch lạc), phẫu thuật chỉnh nha (phẫu thuật lùi hàm dưới), phẫu thuật tạo hình thẩm mỹ (gọt hàm, gọt cằm), phẫu thuật nha chu (điều trị cười lộ nướu), phục hình thẩm mỹ (mặt dán sứ) và cấy ghép implant.

Đặc biệt hơn, các bác sĩ thuộc những chuyên khoa khác nhau còn liên kết và tạo thành nhóm chuyên gia thẩm mỹ (Smile Design Team, Esthetic Dentistry Team).

Tại Việt Nam, các chương trình giáo dục y và nha khoa quốc tế chưa đáp ứng đầy đủ nhu cầu của sinh viên. Trong khi đó, việc du học nha khoa tại các nước Âu, Mỹ lại tạo áp lực lớn do quy trình tuyển sinh thường ưu tiên người bản xứ, chi phí học tập và ăn ở cao, nhiều khó khăn trong giai đoạn thực hành tiếp xúc với bệnh nhân bản xứ, khác biệt về văn hoá và ứng xử.

Để đạt được thành công, nhiều bạn quyết định theo học chương trình đại học nha khoa quốc tế (giáo trình toàn bộ bằng tiếng Anh, kỹ năng thực hành theo chuẩn Âu Mỹ), sau đó học thạc sĩ lâm sàng tại Âu, Mỹ hoặc chương trình đào tạo sau đại học toàn thời gian (Advanced Programs for International Dentists) tại Mỹ.
