Trưởng nhóm đánh giá phân công cho các thành viên rồi tiến hành đánh giá:
Xem xét tài liệu;
Nghiên cứu báo cáo (biểu mẫu) của đợt đánh giá trước để xem tình hình thực hiện, các kiến nghị hoặc biện pháp khắc phục, phòng ngừa, cải tiến (nếu có);
Xem xét các hồ sơ sổ sách ghi nhận hoạt động của hệ thống quản lý chất lượng.
Hỏi (vấn đáp) các nhân viên xem họ có nắm được các đòi hỏi của tiêu chuẩn, nội dung của quy trình, các thủ tục hướng dẫn, biểu mẫu liên quan đến công việc của họ hay không.
Quan sát hành động và thao tác xem họ có làm đúng quy trình hướng dẫn không.
Trong quá trình đánh giá, các thành viên của nhóm đánh giá ghi chép đầy đủ những điểm không phù hợp, nhận xét vào phiếu ghi chép để làm căn cứ lập báo cáo đánh giá.
