Từ khi thành lập vào năm 1956 đến nay, trường ĐHBKHN có nhiệm vụ đào tạo các kỹ sư. Hàng năm, trường tuyển sinh khoảng 4000 sinh viên cho tất cả các chuyên ngành: công nghệ thông tin, hệ thống điện, cơ khí, luyện kim, hóa học, tiếng Anh… Sau 4,5 năm học tập, sinh viên Bách Khoa ngày càng khẳng định được giá trị, uy tín và đóng góp tích cực vào sự phát triển của đất nước.
