Vì khi Việt Nam chưa gia nhập CISG thì vẫn có những trường hợp CISG được áp dụng cho hợp đồng mua bán hàng hóa quốc tế mà một bên là doanh nghiệp Việt Nam (xem câu 10), nhất là khi đối tác có trụ sở tại một quốc gia thành viên CISG.
