Thành phố hồ chí minh là một thành phố lớn, nơi hội tụ việc làm của nhiều người. Chính vì thế mà giao thông đi lại rất đông đúc, thường dẫn đến tình trạng kẹt xe ở khắp mọi nơi.
Tình trạng kẹt xe đang là vấn đề đáng báo động ở thành phố hồ chí minh. Hầu hết các tuyến đường trong thành phố đều đông nghẹt ô tô, xe máy .... đặc biệt là vào những giờ cao điểm. Hệ thống giao thông công cộng kém hiệu quả, hệ thống đường xá thì chật hẹp, hư hỏng nặng đang dần ngày càng quá tải và xuống cấp trầm trọng. Thêm vào đó là những công trường xây dựng, đào đường lắp cống ... mọc lên liên tục, nhiều con đường vừa xây dựng xong lại phải đào lên để đặt đường ống cấp thoát nước, điện ... làm giảm chất lượng cũng như gây nhiều phiền phức cho người dân. Điều đó cho thấy các tổ chức lãnh đạo chưa quan tâm đúng mức, không có sự thống nhất giữa các ban ngành. Bên cạnh đó thì ý thức chấp hành luật lệ giao thông của con người còn rất kém.
Để hạn chế tình trạng kẹt xe, các cấp lãnh đạo nên đề ra các phương án hiệu quả như: mở rộng và nâng cấp các tuyến đường, khuyến khích người dân đi xe buýt và phân làn đường ưu tiên cho xe buýt, điều chỉnh giờ vào nội thành đối với xe tải, lắp đặt camera giám sát giao thông trên khắp đường phố và đưa ra những hình phạt nặng đối với những người vi phạm giao thông.
Vì một môi trường giao thông an toàn, không gây ô nhiễm, đề nghị mọi người hãy có ý thức chấp hành luật lệ giao thông và nhà nước hãy quan tâm hơn.
