Đây là quan điểm cá nhân nên tôi không cảm thấy có sự kiêu hãnh hay trọng đại nào, mà chỉ cảm nhận từ đáy lòng mình rằng Đức Pháp Vương rất từ bi đã ban cho tôi trọng trách tâm linh lớn hơn trong đời này. Biết ơn vì Ngài đã cho cơ hội thực hành tâm linh dưới hình thức trách nhiệm và cơ hội hướng dẫn người khác hướng tới hạnh phúc và giáo pháp, cho phép tôi được góp phần trì giữ và tăng huy di sản tâm linh của Truyền thừa hướng đến các thế hệ tương lai.
“Không được cho rằng chúng ta đang ban ơn cho người khác khi làm công việc tình nguyện.”
Tôi muốn chia sẻ những suy ngẫm của mình để các bạn có thể hiểu được phần nào cảm nghĩ cũng như cách tôi nhìn nhận trách nhiệm của mình trong đời này.
Tôi cũng tin rằng, khi một người làm tình nguyện viên thì thái độ của họ là điều rất quan trọng. Chúng ta không được cho rằng mình đang ban ơn cho người khác: ‘Tôi đang giúp Đức Pháp Vương. Tôi đang giúp cho Truyền thừa và tôi đang giúp bậc Thầy này, bậc Thầy kia’. Điều này làm tăng trưởng bản ngã và quan kiến về ‘cái tôi’ không có lợi cho tinh thần tình nguyện viên. Cái tôi vị kỷ sẽ dẫn đến những suy nghĩ lệch lạc như: “Tôi đang giúp vị Rinpoche/Truyền thừa/Dự án này và không có sự tri ân nào của các Ngài với những nỗ lực lớn lao của tôi. Tôi đã làm việc rất chăm chỉ và những ý kiến/việc làm của tôi không hề được đánh giá cao.’ Ý thức về sự vinh quang của việc ‘giúp đỡ’ sẽ khiến bạn không thể làm tình nguyện viên lâu dài. Khi thiếu vắng sự hiện diện của tâm chí thành và động cơ chân chính của lòng từ bi vô ngã vị tha, bạn sẽ không thể tiến xa trên hành trình phụng sự chúng sinh. Bạn sẽ chỉ làm tình nguyện viên được một thời gian rồi sẽ thấy mình mệt mỏi, giận dữ, chán nản, oán hận và cuối cùng bạn sẽ từ bỏ. Với thái độ như thế thì sẽ không có nhiều chuyển hóa tích cực bên trong chúng ta.
