The future of Add-ons are filled with holographic technology and versatility. At least that's what science fiction movie and super smart geeks in lab science developed the future holds for us.Researchers at Queen's University, human Media Lab have created what they called the world's first holographic versatile smart phone. The prototype Android-based smartphones are called HoloFlex. When HoloFlex was bent, full HD (1920 x 1080) screen is capable of displaying images free 3D glasses. A bending sensor inside enables the user to manipulate objects on the z-axis, more in depth."HoloFlex offers a whole new way to interact with your Smartphone," write Dr. Vertegaal, one of the researchers involved in the project. "It allows for interactive 3D glasses free videos and photos in a way that does not encumber the user."There are many useful use case for holographic technology bendable. In the video above, users can manipulate a handle and re-orientation on a 3D model of a teapot. Other uses include bend the screen to control the Angry Birds and use depth to start a holographic video conference."When bending show users literally pop out of the screen and can even look around each other, with their face, returned correctly from any angle to any onlooker," says Dr. Vertegaal. The phone has respectable specs, including a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor 810 and 2 GB RAM.HoloFlex is still a prototype, but even so, it showed promise. Perhaps a fact such as the Star Wars full of paper, projecting the hologram on the device is the future of smartphones will how after all.
