Chỉ tính riêng kết quả sản xuất kinh doanh 9 tháng đầu năm 2014, ngành dệt may tiếp tục ghi dấu ấn và khẳng định được vai trò là ngành kinh tế mũi nhọn về xuất khẩu. Tổng kim ngạch xuất khẩu toàn ngành đạt 18,2 tỷ USD, tăng 19% so với cùng kỳ năm 2013, trong đó xuất khẩu may mặc đạt 15,5 tỷ USD, xơ sợi dệt đạt 1,9 tỷ USD, vải kỹ thuật 340 triệu USD và nguyên phụ liệu 520 triệu USD. Dự kiến, theo đà này năm 2014 DMVN sẽ đạt KNXK khoảng 25,4 tỷ USD, tăng 19% so với năm 2013.
