Sa Pa là một thị trấn vùng cao, là một khu nghỉ mát nổi tiếng thuộc huyện Sa Pa, tỉnh Lào Cai, Việt Nam. Nơi đây ẩn chứa nhiều điều kỳ diệu của tự nhiên, phong cảnh thiên nhiên với địa hình của núi đồi, màu xanh của rừng cây, tạo nên bức tranh có bố cục hài hoà, có cảnh sắc thơ mộng và hấp dẫn từ cảnh quan đất trời vùng đất phía Tây Bắc.
Sa Pa nằm trên một mặt bằng ở độ cao 1500 đến 1650 mét ở sườn núi Lô Suây Tông. Đỉnh của núi này có thể nhìn thấy ở phía đông nam của Sa Pa, có độ cao 2228 mét. Từ thị trấn nhìn xuống sẽ quan sát được thung lũng Ngòi Dum và thung lũng Mường Hoa.
Mặc dù phần lớn cư dân huyện Sa Pa là những người dân tộc thiểu số, nhưng thị trấn lại tập trung chủ yếu những người Kinh sinh sống bằng nông nghiệp và dịch vụ du lịch.
Sa Pa có không khí mát mẻ quanh năm. Thời tiết ở thị trấn một ngày có đủ bốn mùa: buổi sáng là tiết trời mùa xuân, buổi trưa tiết trời như vào hạ, buổi chiều mây cảm giác lành lạnh như trời thu và ban đêm là cái rét của mùa đông. Nhiệt độ không khí trung bình năm của Sa Pa là 15 °C.Mùa đông thường có mây mù bao phủ và lạnh, nhiệt độ có khi xuống dưới 0 °C, đôi khi có tuyết rơi.Thị trấn Sa Pa là một trong những nơi hiếm hoi của Việt Nam có tuyết. Mùa đông năm 1903 đoàn thám hiểm của Sở địa lý Đông Dương đã khám phá ra cảnh quan mặt bằng Lồ Suối Tủng và làng Sa Pả. Sự kiện này đánh dấu việc ra đời của thị trấn Sa Pa.

Sa Pa có nhiều cảnh đẹp tự nhiên như thác Bạc cầu Mây, cổng Trời, rừng Trúc, động Tả Phìn, bãi đá cổ Sa Pa,Hàm Rồng là nơi trồng rất nhiều loại hoa, màu sắc sặc sỡ ,Ở nơi đây cũng có vườn lan với nhiều loại hoa quý hiếm.
Sa Pa có đỉnh Phan Si Păng cao 3.143m trên dãy Hoàng Liên Sơn. Dãy Hoàng Liên Sơn có nhiều loài gỗ quý và chim thú như gà gô, gấu, khỉ, sơn dương.
Vườn hoa Hàm rồng được xây dựng theo địa thế tự nhiên của đỉnh Hàm rồng, để tham quan vườn hoa, du khách phải leo một chặng đường dài hàng ngàn bậc đá. Lên Hàm Rồng, du khách như lạc vào vườn tiên, mây ùa kín thân người, hoa rực rỡ mặt đất.
Sa Pa còn có nhiều nhũ đá tạo nên những hình thù kỳ thú như hình tiên múa, đoàn tiên ngồi, cánh đồng xa, rừng cây lấp lánh.
Sa Pa là “vương quốc” của hoa trái, như đào hoa, đào vàng to, đào vàng nhỏ, mận hậu, mận tím, mận tam hoa, hoa lay dơn, hoa mận, hoa lê, hoa đào, hoa cúc, hoa hồng…đặc biệt là hoa bất tử sống mãi với thời gian…
Không chỉ nổi tiếng bởi cảnh sắc núi rừng tự nhiên, bầu không khí chớm lạnh, du lịch Sapa còn hút hồn du khách bởi những món ăn độc đáo, mang đậm hương vị núi rừng Tây Bắc. Cùng điểm qua những món ngon ở Sapa ghi dấu ấn trong lòng du khách muôn phương: cơm lam, xôi bảy màu, thịt lợn cắp nách, đồ nướng, đào sapa, thịt xông khói, gà đen( gà ác), cá hồi….
Sa Pa là vùng đất xinh đẹp không chỉ vì cảnh quan mà còn bởi sự hội tụ của nhiều sắc tộc cùng chung sống. Đến nơi đây ngày chợ phiên du khách sẽ không khỏi thích thú với đủ mọi váy áo rực rỡ của các dân tộc H'Mông Đen, Dao Đỏ, Tày, Giáy, Xá Phó. Mỗi dân tộc là một sự khác biệt về trang phục, lối sống, tập tục, phương thức canh tác..., cùng những bản sắc văn hóa riêng biệt, phong phú và bí ẩn.
