Theo công bố từ Tổng cục Thống kê, tỷ lệ thất nghiệp của lao động trong độ tuổi quý 1/2016 ước tính là 2.23%. Tỷ lệ thất nghiệp của lao động trong độ tuổi có trình độ đại học trở lên của cả nước là 3.96%.
Lực lượng lao động từ 15 tuổi trở lên của cả nước đến thời điểm 01/4/2016 ước tính là 54.4 triệu người, tăng 1.4% so với cùng thời điểm năm 2015. Đến thời điểm trên, lực lượng lao động trong độ tuổi lao động ước tính 47.8 triệu người, tăng 0.2% so với cùng thời điểm năm trước. Lao động 15 tuổi trở lên có việc làm trong quý 01/2016 ước tính là 53.3 triệu người.
