Định nghĩa chứng từ :
Trong thương mại quốc tế , căn cứ vào các nguồn luật khác nhau thì có nhiều cách phân loại chứng từ . Theo như trong cuốn :"Các nguyên tắc thống nhất về nhờ thu"( sửa đổi năm 1995, có hiệu lực vào ngày 1/1/1996 do ICC soạn thảo) , viết tắt URC 522 có định nghĩa về chứng từ như sau :
• Chứng từ bao gồm chứng từ tài chính và chứng từ thương mại ( điều 2)
