Vậy nguyên nhân là do đâu? Có rất nhiều lý do dẫn đến việc sinh viên muốn trốn học bỏ tiết. Thứ nhất, nguyên nhân chủ quan: họ lười nhác, chưa nhận thức rõ tầm quan trọng của tri thức, lơ đãng, chỉ lo đua đòi theo chúng bạn mà quên mất nhiệm vụ chính của mình là học và đóng góp cho tổ quốc. Thứ hai,nguyên nhân khách quan: do sinh viên chưa xác định rõ con đường tiếp theo mà mình bước đến, chưa có lí tưởng và tư tưởng vững chắc nên họ dễ bị bạnbè lôi kéo, không có ước mơ để làm mục tiêu phấn đấu. Mặt khác, thầy cô giáo chưa tạo được sự thu hút sinh viên vào học tập, chưa đánh trúng tâm lí sinh viên. Ngoài ra, có thể do chương trình học quá nặng với sinh viên, áp lự ctừ nhiều phía khiến sinh viên chán nản và bắt đầu trốn học.
