Honesty is the essential qualities of a leader. This stems from two main reasons:
First, the leaders always look forward to the subordinate honest, loyal. When there are people honest subordinates, they always assured, especially when assigned to the subordinate managers. An honest man, in terms of society is always a good personality. It's usually people who have cognitive and behavior consistent with social norms, known for good, for social justice.
Second, consider the perspective of an organization, the members of the collective always want and ask their leaders honest. This shows that, the leaders are always interested in knowing the interests of the members of the organization. Those under their desired benefits are guaranteed in the hands of the leaders. In other words, the leader does not betray them, do not get frustrated because they have chosen that person to the position of managing organizations. The subordinates want to feel assured about the center's work is leadership. "We can trust the leader", "Our leader has kept that promise." A leader needs to be done as to how to respond to the wishes of the members of the organization? Here it should be noted that, how to solve this problem is not entirely the same for all leaders. (Dung, 2000)
Honesty of leadership in all areas are shown differently. However, there is a common point to show the truthfulness of the Leader's words and actions of the leaders have to agree with each other, not contradictory. Honesty reflects the loyalty of the leader with his group. Truthfulness of the leaders does not mean that he must completely agree with the views of the collective group and do not want to have such a leader. Because such a leader is a person without political views, without the creative dynamic. But it is important to know who the leader is and that selective hearing opinions of the members of the collective. (Dung, 2005)
