Việc chọn loại kính để sử dụng trong công trình cũng phụ thuộc vào các yếu tố như: Chỉ số cách nhiệt (U value); Hệ số hấp thụ nhiệt bức xạ mặt trời (SHGC); Chỉ số truyền ánh sáng (VLT). Sử dụng loại kính có các yếu tố trên phù hợp với tiêu chuẩn sẽ giúp công trình tiết kiệm điện năng sử dụng hàng năm rất nhiều.
