Một số nghiên cứu về vùng KINH Tế TRọNG ĐIểM Bắc Bộ đã tập trung vào các khía cạnh bền vững vùng như: phát triển bền vững ngành trong vùng; phân tích, chỉ ra những yếu tố tác động đến phát triển bền vững vùng (cơ chế, chính sách; nguồn nhân lực; quy hoạch vùng;...).
Chỉ có rất ít nghiên cứu đã phân tích, đánh giá phát triển bền vững vùng KINH Tế TRọNG ĐIểM Bắc Bộ. Tuy nhiên, các nghiên cứu này chỉ dừng lại ở việc đánh giá PTBV vùng KINH Tế TRọNG ĐIểM Bắc Bộ trong những điều kiện mà chưa có các nhân tố tác động, cũng chưa xem xét bối cảnh trong và ngoài nước đang diễn biến rất phức tạp.
