Số liệu từ Báo cáo Thương mại điện tử Việt Nam năm 2014 cho thấy, doanh thu từ thương mại điện tử tại Việt Nam năm 2014 đã cán mốc 2,97 tỷ USD, chiếm 2,12% tổng mức bán lẻ hoàng hóa của cả nước. Ta có thể thấy được, doanh thu thương mại điện tử không ngừng tăng lên qua các năm, đặc biệt là sự tăng đột biến trong năm 2013 với tốc độ tăng 303.67% so với năm 2012. Theo dự báo của các chuyên gia, thương mại điện tử ở Việt Nam sẽ ngày càng phát triển bùng nổ hơn trong những năm tới.
