Công ty Cổ phần PVI (gọi tắt là “Công ty”) tiền thân là Tổng Công ty Cổ phần Bảo hiểm Dầu khí Việt Nam
được thành lập và hoạt động theo Giấy phép số 42 GP/KDBH ngày 12 tháng 3 năm 2007 của Bộ Tài chính.
Từ ngày 10 tháng 8 năm 2007, cổ phiếu của Công ty Cổ phần PVI được niêm yết trên Trung tâm Giao
dịch Chứng khoán Hà Nội (nay là Sở Giao dịch Chứng khoán Hà Nội).
Ngày 28 tháng 6 năm 2011, Tổng Công ty Cổ phần Bảo hiểm Dầu khí Việt Nam đã được Sở Kế hoạch và
Đầu tư thành phố Hà Nội cấp Giấy phép kinh doanh số 0100151161 sửa đổi bổ sung lần thứ 12, đổi tên
thành Công ty Cổ phần PVI, sửa đổi và bổ sung một số ngành nghề kinh doanh.
Công ty chính thức đi vào hoạt động theo mô hình công ty mẹ, công ty con theo Giấy phép kinh doanh
mới từ ngày 01 tháng 8 năm 2011.
Tổng số nhân viên của Công ty và các công ty con tại ngày 31 tháng 12 năm 2015 là 2.201 người (tại ngày
31 tháng 12 năm 2014: 2.290 người)
