Singapore được biết đến như một điểm du học lý tưởng cho sinh viên. Tuy nhiên không phải ai cũng biết và có đầy đủ thông tin về thực tế cuộc sống cũng như điều kiện học tập tại đây.

Vừa qua, thầy Bùi Hữu Ninh - Hiệu trưởng trường THPT Việt Đức (HN) và chị Minh Anh - Giám đốc văn phòng RV Centre Hà Nội đã có một chuyến khảo sát thực tế về điều kiện học tập, sinh hoạt của các em sinh viên RV Centre HN đang học tập tại các trường quốc lập Singapore.
Điều kiện học tập
Singapore là đất nước có nền giáo dục chất lượng cao với hệ thống các trường quốc lập được xếp hạng trên thế giới. Các trường này cung cấp cho học sinh một môi trường học tập thực sự lý tưởng với hệ thống giáo trình phong phú, máy móc thiết bị hiện đại hỗ trợ cho học tập và giảng dạy. Hệ thống phòng đọc, phòng học, phòng chơi nhạc, phòng computer lab với mạng Internet phục vụ miễn phí giúp cho sinh viên dễ dàng tra cứu tài liệu và thực hành việc học ngôn ngữ.
Chỉ riêng trường đại học NUS đã có khoảng 6 thư viện, mỗi thư viện có ít nhất 100 máy vi tính nối mạng internet. Đó là chưa kể đến các phòng computer lab cho SV, riêng khoa cơ khí của trường này đã có hơn tới 400 máy vi tính hiện đại. Sinh viên đến từ các trường đại học UC Backeley, Stanford - Mỹ khi tham gia chương trình Student exchange tại NUS đã nhận xét rằng phương tiện kỹ thuật của trường này hơn hẳn trường mình.
Bên cạnh đó, yêu cầu cơ bản cho tất cả sinh viên khi học tập tại Singapore là phải có máy vi tính xách tay vì cường độ và số lượng bài tập mà các sinh viên phải làm tương đối lớn. Ngoài ra SV cũng phải sử dụng máy vi tính để kết nối internet truy cập các thông tin cần thiết, đọc bài giảng của giáo viên cũng như liên hệ với giáo viên khi các em không đến lớp.
Trong thời gian học tập, sinh viên không bắt buộc phải tham dự tất cả các buổi giảng bài của giáo viên. Các em có thể ở nhà tự học, có thể lên thư viện hoặc học qua bǎng hình bài giảng trên lớp... Tuy nhiên dù học dưới hình thức nào sinh viên cũng phải đảm bảo tiếp thu đầy đủ lượng kiến thức của chương trình.
Giáo viên tham gia giảng dạy tại các trường quốc lập Singapore thường là những giáo sư đầu ngành. Ngoài sự tin cậy và phong phú về tri thức, các thầy luôn sẵn lòng giúp đỡ sinh viên ngoài giờ học khi các em có nhu cầu cần giải đáp. Sinh viên có thể thẳng thắn trao đổi, bày tỏ ý kiến, thái độ về một vấn đề gì đó với giáo viên mà không sợ mất lòng.
Nguyễn Hữu Trí, chủ tịch hội sinh viên VN tại trường NUS cho biết, hiện tại có khoảng 500 học sinh VN đang học tại NUS. Họ đều học tập và hoà nhập khá tốt với cuộc sống ở đây. Các hoạt động ngoại khoá như gây quỹ nhân đạo ủng hộ người nghèo, thể thao, tham quan, cắm trại... diễn ra khá thường xuyên. Các hoạt động này không chỉ giúp các em hoà nhập với môi trường, xã hội xung quanh... Ngoài ra, các em cũng có thể tìm kiếm sự giúp đỡ từ các trung tâm hỗ trợ sinh viên quốc tế làm việc 24/24.
Điều kiện sinh sống
SV Việt Nam tại các trường quốc lập Singapore có thể lựa chọn 1 trong 2 hình thức: ở trong kí túc xá của trường học hoặc thuê nhà ở tại các khu trung cư chất lượng cao. Được sắp xếp ở lại kí túc xá là quyền lợi đương nhiên của sinh viên quốc tế. Từ phòng ốc, nhà cửa đến các phương tiện cho cuộc sống xa nhà đều đầyđủ và tiện nghi. Song điều quan trọng hơn cả đó là an ninh trong các khu kí túc xá đã được nghiên cứu và áp dụng hiệu quả.
Nhưng cũng nhiều SV lại thích thuê nhà ở các khu chung cư, trung bình 2 hoặc 3 em thuê chung phòng. Tiền thuê một căn hộ như vậy khoảng 1.200 đôla/tháng.
Điều kiện ăn ở cũng như an ninh ở đây có thể nói được đảm bảo hoàn toàn, sinh viên thật sự thoải mái và chỉ lo đến việc học tập cho có kết quả.
Việc đi lại trong các khu ký túc xá cũng rất thuận tiện. SV có thể đi từ khu ký túc xá này sang khu ký túc xá khác hoặc từ giảng đường này sang giảng đường khác bằng xe buýt riêng của trường. Môi trường xã hội và con người
Môi trường Singapore nổi tiếng là trong lành và sạch sẽ bởi ở những người dân nơi đây luôn có tinh thần tự giác và tuân thủ pháp luật. Người dân Singapore cũng rất thân thiện và sẵn sàng giúp đỡ. Nếu bạn bị lạc đường và hỏi bất kỳ một người nào đó ở gần bạn, người ta sẽ giúp bạn bằng mọi cách, có thể chỉ đường cho bạn, có thể hỏi người khác rồi chỉ đường cho bạn.

Nguyễn Hữu Trí nhận xét "Du học Singapore có một điểm rất thuận lợi rất lớn cho SV VN là hầu như không có tiền chúng ta vẫn có thể học được. Điều kiện sinh sống và học tập ở đây cũng rất tốt. Chỉ có điều để chọn được ngành học phù hợp và để học tập được suôn sẻ và đạt kết quả tốt, chúng ta nên có một sự chuẩn bị kỹ càng từ khi còn học phổ thông trung học tại nước mình".
