Xu hướng ngành MIS trên thế giới và Việt Nam

Trên thế giới có hàng trăm trường đại học đào tạo cử nhân về ngành Hệ thống thông tin quản lý (MIS) hay các ngành liên quan như Hệ thống thông tin kinh doanh (Business Information System), Hệ thống thông tin thông minh (Intelligent Information System).
Khảo sát của tạp chí Wall Street Journal vào năm 2010 tại Hoa Kỳ cho hay: 54% sinh viên tốt nghiệp chuyên ngành MIS hài lòng với nghề nghiệp lựa chọn, có sự thỏa mãn nghề nghiệp trong nhóm đầu 5 ngành nghề, và có mức lương khởi điểm cao đứng thứ 15/144 nghề nghiệp (theo Payscale.com). Theo dự báo, nguồn nhân lực của Hoa Kỳ ngành Hệ thống thông tin quản lý tiếp tục tăng mạnh, sẽ có khoảng 1 triệu việc làm này được tạo ra từ năm 2010 - 2018.
Đây cũng là xu hướng toàn cầu, trong đó, Việt Nam không nằm ngoại lệ. Hiện nay và thời gian tới, chuyên viên MIS ở nước ta rất khan hiếm. Nhiều tổ chức, doanh nghiệp Việt Nam có nhu cầu cao về nhân lực Hệ thống thông tin quản lý, song nguồn cung còn hạn chế cả về số lượng lẫn chất lượng.
