Tổng lượng tiêu thụ thép xây dựng cả năm 2015 tăng 24,3% so với năm 2014 lên đến gần 7 triệu tấn. Trao đổi với TBKTSG Online chiều nay, 6-1, ông Nguyễn Văn Sưa, Phó Chủ tịch Hiệp hội Thép Việt Nam, cho biết tổng tiêu thụ thép xây dựng cả năm 2015 rất khả quan với tổng lượng tiêu thụ gần 7 triệu tấn, tăng 24,3% so với năm 2014. Với đà tăng trưởng này, ông Sưa hy vọng lượng thép xây dựng tiêu thụ năm 2016 sẽ đạt kế hoạch tăng 15% so với năm 2015.

Thông thường, lượng sản xuất và tiêu thụ thép xây dựng tăng tương ứng với sản lượng phôi nguyên liệu. Tuy nhiên, tình hình năm qua lại khác, khi lượng phôi thép từ Trung Quốc nhập vào Việt Nam khá nhiều, chiếm thị phần đến hơn 20%, khiến lượng phôi sản xuất trong nước tính cả năm 2015 chỉ đạt khoảng 6 triệu tấn, tăng 2% so với năm 2014.

Bà Võ Thị Hạnh, Tổng Giám đốc Công ty Thép Việt Pháp tại tỉnh Quảng Nam, cho biết trong năm 2015, tác động của phôi, thép giá rẻ từ Trung Quốc ồ ạt vào Việt Nam khiến nhiều doanh nghiệp thép trong nước bị lỗ, trong đó công ty thép Việt Pháp cũng chịu chung cảnh này.

“Mới đây nhất tôi nghe thông tin phôi từ Trung Quốc tiếp tục giảm giá nữa, giá chào tại TPHCM chỉ 6.300 đồng/kg phôi và đây là giá thấp hơn giá phôi sản xuất trong nước khoảng 600 – 700 đồng/kg. Điều này có nghĩa là áp lực đối với nhà sản xuất thép, phôi trong nước ngày càng lớn”, bà Hạnh cho hay.

Trước thông tin đồng nhân dân tệ tiếp tục mất giá thì phôi thép giá rẻ của Trung Quốc được dự báo tiếp tục ồ ạt sang Việt Nam.

Theo tính toán, lượng phôi thép nhập khẩu vào thị trường Việt Nam tăng nhanh vào năm 2014 và 2015. Lượng phôi thép nhập khẩu vào Việt Nam trong năm 2014 là trên 588.000 tấn, và ước tính trong năm 2015 là trên 1,5 triệu tấn.
