11.Mê Tín
Mê tín dị đoan, theo định nghĩa, là niềm tin rằng một hiện tượng xảy ra vì là hậu quả của một hiện tượng khác, trong khi thật ra không có mối liên hệ nguyên nhân hậu quả gì giữa những hiện tượng nầy. Trong thực tế, người ta thường làm (hoặc tránh làm) một hành động gì đó để một sự việc gì khác xảy ra (hoặc không xảy ra) trong khi thật sự là hành động nầy không tạo thành hay sinh ra bởi sự việc này.
Mê tín có thể phát xuất từ những luật lệ trong xã hội ngày xưa, nhưng lâu ngày rồi ý nghĩa của những luật lệ nầy bị quên lãng đi và người ta chỉ còn biết rằng “không được làm việc đó, nếu làm sẽ đem lại hậu quả xấu”.
Ở Việt Nam, một số tục kiêng kỵ từ ngày xưa vẫn còn được lưu truyền đến hôm nay cũng tạo nên những nét riêng cho ngày Tết. Tuy nhiên, những tập tục mê tín, những quan niệm không có tính khoa học cũng nên được loại bỏ.
