Khi phỏng vấn nhóm học sinh, các em đã chỉ ra các lý do chính học sinh ít đến thư viện là do:
- Lịch học chính khóa và học bồi dưỡng dày đặc khiến học sinh có nhu cầu vui chơi giải trí ngoài trời hơn là đọc sách;
- Thư viện không đủ sách, tài liệu phù hợp với nhu cầu học sinh;
- Nguồn sách báo, tài liệu ít được cập nhật;
- Sách báo không được cập nhật mới, đọc một vài lần là xong;
- Số lượng sách báo hay không nhiều, các em muốn mượn nhưng bạn khác đã mượn;
- Thời gian thư viện mở cửa ít hoặc chưa phù hợp với lịch học – sinh hoạt của học sinh tại trường;
- Không thích đọc;
