BMW 8-Series cũng sẽ được phát triển dựa trên kiến trúc CLAR mà hãng này đang theo đuổi. Tất nhiên 8-Series sẽ có nhiều phiên bản khác nhau để có thể cạnh tranh đầy đủ với đối thủ S-Class: gồm một mẫu xe cao cấp nhất với động cơ V8 4.0L tăng áp kép cho công suất khoảng 650 mã lực; cùng một bản động cơ I6 3.0L 450 mã lực. Một phiên bản plug-in hybrid cũng sẽ được phát triển nhưng chưa rõ là đi cùng động cơ I4 hay I6.
