Chị được Nhà nước truy tặng Anh hùng lực lượng vũ trang nhân dân năm 1994, năm 2005 Sở VHTTDL Kiên Giang xây dựng Nhà bia tưởng niệm, tọa lạc tại Đường Mai Hồng Hạnh, khu phố nội ô thị trấn Giồng Riềng, huyện Giồng Riềng và được công nhận là Di tích Lịch sử cấp tỉnh năm 2006.

Mỗi năm, vào ngày 11 và 12/10, thì huyện Giồng Riềng dường như náo nhiệt hơn, lộng lẫy hơn bởi khí thế của lễ và hội, Lễ giỗ của chị Mai Thị Nương hằng năm đều được chia làm 2 phần.
