Đề tài “Giải pháp sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật an toàn trong sản xuất rau ở huyện Đak Pơ, Tỉnh Gia Lai” được thực hiện từ tháng 10/2014 đến tháng 10/2015 với mục tiêu của đề tài là đánh giá thực trạng, phân tích các nhân tố ảnh hưởng đến việc sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật và đề xuất giải pháp sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật an toàn trong sản xuất rau trên địa bàn huyện Đak Pơ, tỉnh Gia Lai.
Đề tài áp dụng phương pháp thống kê mô tả với số liệu điều tra thực tế 100 hộ sản xuất rau ở huyện Đak Pơ, tỉnh Gia Lai cho thấy các hộ dân xuất rau với quy mô hộ gia đình, diện tích nhỏ; chưa có sự liên kết trong sản xuất; tiêu thụ rau tự do; người trồng rau có xu hướng sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật với liều lượng cao hơn khuyến cáo của nhà sản xuất.
Đề tài sử dụng phần mềm EVIEW 8 để ước lượng và kiểm định mô hình nghiên cứu với biến phụ thuộc Y là biến giả, có giá trị bằng 1 nếu sử dụng không an toàn, nhận giá trị 0 nếu an toàn và 11 biến độc lập. Kết quả hồi quy cho thấy các biến: Giới tính, Trình độ học vấn, Quy mô sản xuất, Tập huấn, Lao động và Sự khan hiếm rau ảnh hưởng đến việc sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật không an toàn; các biến Tuổi, Kinh nghiệm trồng rau không có ảnh hưởng; số liệu điều tra của các biến Nguồn gốc giống rau, Nguồn tiêu thụ rau, Tham gia liên kết sản xuất không có ý nghĩa để chạy mô hình.
Qua đó, tác giả đã đề xuất các giải pháp: tuyên truyền giáo dục để nâng cao nhận thức của nam giới trong việc sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật; giải pháp gắn kết sản xuất với tiêu thụ rau để khắc phục việc sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật không an toàn khi xảy ra khan hiếm rau trên thị trường; giải pháp nâng cao chất lượng lao động trồng rau; giải pháp đổi mới, nâng cao hiệu quả công tác tập huấn nhằm nâng cao trình độ chuyên môn, bổ sung kiến thức về sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật cũng như sản xuất rau an toàn; giải pháp liên kết, ứng dụng cơ giới hóa trong sản xuất rau để khắc phục tình trạng sử dụng thuốc bảo vệ thực vật không an toàn khi người nông dân sản xuất rau với quy mô lớn.
