Trong bể Aerotank khuấy trộn đều nước thải với bùn hoạt tính lơ lửng nhờ thiết bị sục khí là các đĩa phân phối khí đặt dưới đáy bể đồng thời khuếch tán oxy vào nước đảm bảo điều kiện cho quá trình phân hủy hiếu khí xảy ra.
