Được sự đồng ý của Bộ Chính trị, Ban Thường vụ và Tỉnh uỷ Yên Bái đã nhất trí đề cử bà Phạm Thị Thanh Trà, Phó bí thư Tỉnh uỷ ứng cử chức Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh thay ông Phạm Duy Cường- Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh đảm nhiệm chức Bí thư Tỉnh uỷ.

Sáng nay, HĐND tỉnh Yên Bái khoá XVII đã tổ chức kỳ họp bất thường thứ 13 bầu chức danh Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh.

Tham dự kỳ họp có 52/57 đại biểu, bà Phạm Thị Thanh Trà đã trúng cử chức Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh nhiệm kỳ 2011-2016 với 100% số phiếu bầu.

Bà Phạm Thị Thanh Trà sinh ngày 21/01/1964 tại xã Nam Yên, huyện Nam Đàn tỉnh Nghệ An, trình độ thạc sỹ, cao cấp lý luận chính trị đã trải qua các cương vị công tác: Phó Chủ tịch UBND huyện Trấn Yên, bí thư tỉnh đoàn, Trưởng ban Tuyên giáo Tỉnh uỷ, phó Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh, Bí thư thành uỷ TP. Yên Bái, Phó bí thư Tỉnh uỷ.

Đây là lần đầu tiên tỉnh Yên Bái có một phụ nữ đảm nhận chức danh Chủ tịch UBND tỉnh.
