‘Đông Nam Á là khu vực trọng điểm để IS tuyển mộ chiến binh’

Đông Nam Á đang trở thành một trong những khu vực trọng điểm để tuyển mộ chiến binh cho tổ chức khủng bố Nhà nước Hồi giáo (IS) tự xưng.
Đây là tuyên bố của Thủ tướng Singapore Lý Hiển Long đưa ra ngày 16/11 tại Hội nghị thượng đỉnh G20 ở thành phố Antalya, Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ. Theo ông Lý Hiển Long, hàng trăm người từ các nước Đông Nam Á, trong đó có công dân Singapore, đã tham gia các tổ chức khủng bố, gồm cả IS. Do vậy Singapore không thể làm ngơ trước những gì đang diễn ra.
Trước đó, ngày 14/11, Thứ trưởng Nội vụ Malaysia Nur Jazlan Mohamed cho biết IS đang âm mưu tuyển mộ những người có chuyên môn cao về các loại vũ khí, vật liệu nổ từ Malaysia và Indonesia.
Ông Jazlan nhấn mạnh đây không chỉ là một mối đe dọa lớn đối với Malaysia mà còn đối với các nước Đông Nam Á khác, do đó, không thể đánh giá thấp. Theo ông, để đối phó với IS, các nước trong khu vực phải theo dõi mạng Internet bởi đây là phương tiện giao tiếp chính để IS truyền chỉ thị ra bên ngoài cũng như cần áp dụng các biện pháp phù hợp vì các cuộc tấn công khủng bố thường do các nhóm nhỏ thực hiện và rất khó để lần ra dấu vết.
