Hiện nay các dữ liệu đăng ký chi tiết như thửa đất, chủ sử dụng đất chưa được tổ chức quản lý tương xứng với giá trị và tầm quan trọng. Dữ liệu còn nằm phân tán tại nhiều đơn vị, chưa được tập trung quản lý để phục vụ các mục đích sử dụng, tránh sự trùng lặp trong các hoạt động điều tra, khảo sát, đo đạc, đăng ký, quy hoạch…, tạo nguồn thông tin tin cậy cho hoạt động quản lý và ra quyết định của cấp quản lý.
