Di sản Hán Nôm Nguyễn Nghiễm tồn tại tản mác ở nhiều địa phương từ miền Bắc cho đến miền Trung, gắn liền với những dấu ấn cuộc đời, mối quan hệ do ông tạo dựng. Bên cạnh đó, các di sản Hán Nôm thể hiện trong sách vở, thư tịch (văn bản giấy, vải)... được biên tập, ghi chép, sao bản và lưu trữ tại nhiều tư liệu thư tịch thành văn cũng nằm rải rác và không có “thủ cảo” (tư liệu gốc). Những tư liệu chúng tôi tiếp cận là bản sao với tình trạng văn bản học còn một số vấn đề cần bàn. Những văn bản được coi là tư liệu gốc hiện có, lưu giữ bút tích hoặc tên tuổi của Nguyễn Nghiễm cho đến nay phổ biến vẫn là hệ thống các văn khắc Hán Nôm đang tồn tại
