Để quá trình dạy học có chất lượng và hiệu quả cao, từ xa xưa con người đã tìm ra và sử dụng nhiều phương pháp khác nhau cho mục đích này và theo đó, cơ sở vật chất và thiết bị giáo dục phục vụ cho phương pháp dạy học cũng ra đời và phát triển.

Cơ sở vật chất và thiết bị giáo dục đóng vai trò hỗ trợ tích cực cho quá trình Dạy – Học. Bởi vì có thiết bị dạy học tốt thì chúng ta mới có thể tổ chức được quá trình dạy học khoa học, huy động được đa số người học tham gia thực sự vào quá trình này, họ tự khai thác và tiếp nhận tri thức dưới sự hướng dẫn của người dạy một cách tích cực.

Như vậy thì thiết bị dạy học phải đủ và phù hợp mới triển khai được các phương pháp dạy học một cách hiệu quả.
