Sau khi học sinh hoàn thành giai đoạn While-reading giáo viên có thể tiến hành các hoạt động luyện tập nhằm kiểm tra, đánh giá sự hiểu bài và nắm được bài của học sinh hay không. Giáo viên lựa chọn các dạng bài tập sao cho phù hợp, phong phú, đa dạng…và sử dụng các thủ thuật khác nhau sao cho khéo léo, linh hoạt giúp học sinh hiểu bài tốt hơn, tránh gây cho học sinh sự nhàm chán. Từ đó yêu cầu các em đưa ra những tình huống, câu chuyện thực tế có liên quan đến chủ đề của bài học. Các dạng bài tập tôi thường vận dụng trong giai đoạn này là:
