Đã qua, về lĩnh vực này mặc dù các cấp, các ngành liên quan có quan tâm, nhưng hiệu quả mang lại chưa cao, công tác tuyên truyền, vận động còn nhiều hạn chế, bất cập, chưa triển khai sâu rộng đến mọi tầng lớp nhân dân để giáo dục cho cộng đồng về trách nhiệm bảo vệ động, thực vật hoang dã; về các cơ quan thông tin báo, đài truyền hình, phát thanh ở các địa phương còn rất ít tuyên truyền, phổ biến thông tin rộng rãi đến người dân, làm cho người dân ngày càng hiểu hơn về công tác bảo tồn đa dạng sinh học và tác hại của việc sử dụng và buôn bán động vật hoang dã.
