Như chúng ta đã biết Văn Miếu – Quốc Tử Giám là quần thể di tích đa dạng và phong phú hàng đầu của thành phố Hà Nội, nằm ở phía nam kinh thành Thăng Long thời nhà Lý. Là tổ hợp gồm hai di tích chính: Văn Miếu thờ Khổng Tử, các bậc hiền triết của Nho giáo và Tư nghiệp Quốc Tử Giám Chu Văn An, người thầy tiêu biểu đạo cao, đức trọng của nền giáo dục Việt Nam; và Quốc Tử Giám trường Quốc học cao cấp đầu tiên của Việt Nam, với hơn 700 năm hoạt động đã đào tạo hàng nghìn nhân tài cho đất nước. Ngày nay, Văn Miếu-Quốc Tử Giám là nơi tham quan của du khách trong và ngoài nước đồng thời cũng là nơi khen tặng cho học sinh xuất sắc và còn là nơi tổ chức hội thơ hàng năm vào ngày rằm tháng giêng. Đặc biệt, đây còn là nơi các sĩ tử ngày nay đến "cầu may" trước mỗi kỳ thi. Chính vì thế mà tôi đã chọn Văn Miếu Quốc Tử Giám làm đề tài tiểu luận cho bộ môn phân tích tác phẩm nghệ thuật của mình.2. Mục đích, nhiệm vụ nghiên cứu. Nhiệm vụ nghiên cứu Văn miếu Quốc Tử Giám nhắm mục đích tìm hiểu một cách rõ nét nhất lối kiến trúc, cách xây dựng để từ đó biết được bố cục, hình, màu sắc của điêu khắc, kiến trúc, trang trí… trong nghệ thuật truyền thống của mỹ thuật cổ truyền Việt Nam.
