Nêu rõ yêu cầu là phải tiếp tục cải cách để phục vụ người dân, doanh nghiệp được tốt hơn, hay nói cách khác là làm tốt hơn việc thực hiện các chính sách xã hội, Thủ tướng cho biết, Chính phủ đã thảo luận và quyết định phải giảm từ 235 giờ làm thủ tục BHXH trong một năm xuống còn 49,5 giờ, ngang bằng với các nước ASEAN-6 và tiếp tục giảm để bằng với các nước ASEAN-4.

Để thực hiện được mục tiêu đề ra còn 49,5 giờ, Thủ tướng yêu cầu BHXH Việt Nam cần tiếp tục đẩy mạnh cải cách thủ tục hành chính, coi đây là nhiệm vụ chính trị trọng tâm của ngành, là trách nhiệm, là hành động thiết thực phục vụ nhân dân, đất nước. “Đồng chí cán bộ, đảng viên nào không làm tốt việc này, không đề cao trách nhiệm, không quyết liệt làm phải nghiêm túc kiểm điểm” - Thủ tướng nói.
