Trong quá trình giảng dạy tôi đã áp dụng một số thủ thuật gợi mở, giới thiệu từ mới như:
2.1. Visual (nhìn): cho học sinh nhìn tranh ảnh, vẽ phác hoạ cho các em nhìn, giúp giáo viên ngữ nghĩa hoá từ một cách nhanh chóng.

2.2. Mine (điệu bộ): Thể hiện qua nét mặt, điệu bộ.

2.3. Realia (vật thật): Dùng những dụng cụ trực quan thực tế có được.

2.4. Situation / explanation:

Example: honest
Teacher explains: “I don’t tell lies. I don’t cheat in the exams. I tell the truth.”

2.6. Synonyon antonyon (đồng nghĩa trái nghĩa): Giáo viên dùng những từ đã học rồi để giảng từ đồng nghĩa hoặc trái nghĩa.
